The air is cold, but there is a small breeze that's flowing in through a small window on the wall in the cabin. The whole cabin was dim with the light from the moon seeping in. Alek was lying in bed, trying to get at least some kind of sleep before the sun comes up. But he couldn't manage to keep his eyes closed for some reason. It was late; the moon had almost left the room when there was a frantic knock at the door.
Alek slowly got out of bed when the knowing became louder. "Hold on, hold on. I'm almost there," the boy said as he quickened his pace. Once he opened the door he saw that it was Deryn standing there. She took there in the door way, shacking and looking at the ground. All she was wearing was her buttoned up white long sleeved shirt, which was a mess as well as her blue jeans. Her hair was either just as messy, or a bit worse.
"Deryn, what are you doing up so late and why are you shacking about like that?" Alek whispered to her. He noticed that she was crying when he took a step closer to her. Without another sound, she flew into his arms and held on tight, as if she were about to fall off the ship. "Deryn, what's the matter, are you alright?"
Deryn still held her grasp and began to cry even more so than she had already been. Finally, Alek pulled her in and closed the door behind with his right hand, and her in the other. Deryn leaned in closer to him as he held a strong grip on her while they made their way to the bed. Half way there, she stopped and gave Alek a hug and long lasting embrace before they sat down.
Then, Deryn sat down on the bed and Alek knelt down in front of her as he tried to wipe the tears from her cheek. It seemed almost impossible because she was crying so much. "I don't know why you're here, and for that matter I don't care that you are. I love that you are." Alek whispered as he brushed the hair from her face as he held her hand.
Finally Deryn managed to speak. "It's barking daft why I'm here, but you were the first one that I could come to for something like this." She said in tears. Alek stood and got her some water. With all the noise that was going on, Bovril woke and sat next to Deryn. She reached down to pet his head and then began with the tears again.
Alek came back and set the glass and sat down beside her wrapping one arms around her. He presented the water for her, but she didn't need any just yet, so he placed it down on the nightstand by his bed. After wards he then leaned back and laid down with her in his arms and Bovril by his head. They were all in a ball of warmth, as Deryn slowly stopped crying and her iron grip faded away as well.
Finally, Deryn raised her head and put a hand on Alek's chest and pulled in close to him as the she were laying her head on his chest. "Alek, would it be alright if I could stay here with you, in your arms tonight?" she asked quietly. Alek gave her a warm huge and a genital kiss on her head and whispered, "You're welcome to stay for as long as you what, and come by whenever you want to." Deryn smiled and made herself comfortable again back in the warmth and safety of his arms as she slowly fell asleep.
By the time the sun came up, Bovril was already awake and moving about the cabin. Alek woke up a while after Bovril had. Also the noise that he was making played a hand in it. Alek had then turned his attention to Deryn who hadn't left the warmth of his arms. He smiled and gently kissed her head. A moment later Alek heard something shuffling across the floor, "Bovril?" he called wondering what he was doing down there. The Loris peered his big eyes over the edge of the bed wondering why he was called. "Bovril, what are you doing down there?" Bovril jumped onto the bed and slowly made is was to Alek and whispered in his ear, "I locked the door." he began to giggle at his deviance.
Alek was puzzled at that, and then glanced over at the door. The Loris had locked the door and closed the window and sealed off the tubes that the messenger lizards would use, as well as the bottom of the door with his shirt. "Clever." Alek mumbled as he stroked Bovril's fur. Deryn began to move about, starting to wake. Alek was trying to sit still, though it was difficult for him to do so being laid upon by her and the muscle that came with the beauty. Bovril then made his way over to the other side of her and sat down. Deryn slowly opened her eyes to see their faces smiling at her.
"Good morning sleepy head, how did you sleep?" Alek said quietly. Bovril snuggled close to her back as though he were going back to bed. Deryn lifted her head up and saw what she thought was a very handsome man. Then she turned over to check on Bovril, who was falling asleep again.
"Hey", she smiled before tightening her grasp on him. "I slept better than I usually do, thanks to you holding me. But do you think we can stay here just like a wee bit longer?" Deryn asked. Alek gave her a smile, "I was hoping you would say that", he whispered. The two wrapped their arms around each other and had a long loving embrace. After a while they got out of bed and began to move about the cabin.
Then the two sat down on the bed up against the wall that the bed was against. The room was quiet, Bovril still sleeping, the sun was almost to the window now and no sound had come from the hallway for it was early. No one was in dire need of them so they held each other close as Deryn began explain her nightmare to Alek.
