Yes, the colors of rust and gold and a weathered feel would suit it well. But these are rebels and they're in the desert. Now I don't know if the Walker was of military origins or was manufactured from the same copy as one and then mounted with a camera. So I'm guessing that I would need to get the background and what, where, and the conditions of the background and apply them to the walker. So for the quick short time I had on it, I colored it as all machinery simple colors are. I will have to review that section of the book and get yet another feel of what really was going on back them. Remember I need to have it as colors that not only will work with the computer but will also resemble the time period.
Hmm... good job so far, like the background and Deryn's wings. As for the walker, well, In my head i imagine it as a combination of gold, silver, copper, red and beige. Well, that's the general colour pallet of steampunk machinery and stuff. XD
First off I'm not sure that the bright blue suit on Deryn is the right color....I'm thinking that black might be better. The ground might need some more color too, with some dry greens, yellows, and browns. Also, the cacti aren't the most fitting shade of green; I'd look at some ref pics of cacti to get a better idea of the color.
The sky could also be a different shade; the gray from the original drawing kinda messes up the coloring, though.
Lastly, the walker could use more color. Subtle grays, blue-grays, and brown-grays would make it look less strange.
My god I love you! It does help, I jest didn't konw what to use for some colors and so I chose something simple and worked with it from there and I will try to change some things on there to make it look even better. Thank you for the help. :3
